Tottenham Hotspur are looking to kickstart a new era at N17 and build on the Europa League success next season. The Lilywhites managed to do the unthinkable by winning the competition last month under Ange Postecoglou. But that was not enough for the Australian tactician to save his job at Hotspur Way, and the 59-year-old was sacked by Daniel Levy just two weeks after the historic achievement.
Now, Spurs are heading toward a new chapter and are closing in on appointing Thomas Frank as the new manager . The Brentford boss is not going to have an easy task at N17 following Ange Postecoglou’s questionable departure. With fans and the players furious about Big Ange’s sack news, Frank will have to get them back on board quickly if he wants to be successful in North London.
The Lilywhites need to bring in reinforcements in the summer as well after enduring a disastrous domestic campaign. A major squad overhaul is needed and Daniel Levy must adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy after Tottenham finished the Premier League campaign just a place above the relegation zone. There is no surprise that Spurs are looking to cash in on some of the underperforming players as well to bring new signings.
Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer after enduring a tough domestic campaign. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites were interested in signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo to address the problems in the final third of the pitch. However, Spurs are all set to miss out on signing the Cameroon international as Manchester United are closing in for his signature.
Now, ex-Arsenal man Perry Groves has urged the 25-year-old to make the switch to N17 despite Man United links. Speaking on talkSPORT, Groves said,
“Football-wise, he should go to – and it pains me to say it – he should go to Spurs because of Champions League football and you want to play at the highest level. But financially, that’s why Spurs are going to struggle to go at that [potential transfer]. Because all the top teams pay their top players £200,000-a-week plus. Spurs are never going to do that.”

Perry Groves insisted that Bryan Mbeumo should move to Tottenham as he will get to play Champions League football next season. However, the ex-Arsenal icon also added that the Lilywhites would not be afford the deal financially, as the Cameroon international will roughly ask for £200,000-a-week plus bonuses.
With Spurs on the verge of appointing Thomas Frank as their new manager, it would only make sense for Mbeumo to make the switch to N17 and play under the Danish tactician. The 25-year-old’s game has developed massively under Frank and the current Brentford boss has helped Mbeumo reach new heights this season. As per Sofascore, the prolific attacker registered 20 goals and eight assists in just 42 appearances this season.
Signing Bryan Mbeumo would elevate the quality of the Spurs attack to new levels. He will instantly become a starter under Thomas Frank, and the Cameroon international will also get to play at the highest level possible at N17. Fans will hope that the appointment of Thomas Frank will lure the 25-year-old towards North London as Spurs will look to build on the Europa League success next season.
