Sir David Beckham and Inter Miami are considering a move for Cape Verde international Vozinha after his remarkable performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to O Jogo, Beckham’s MLS side are interested in signing the experienced 40-year-old goalkeeper following his impressive displays on the international stage.
Vozinha became one of the surprise stars of the tournament as Cape Verde reached the Round of 32 before suffering an agonising 3-2 extra-time defeat to Argentina.
The veteran goalkeeper produced eight saves against the world champions.
He frustrated Lionel Messi and company for long spells.
The match also saw Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez score a stunning goal.
The 28-year-old also provided a superb assist for Messi.
Across the World Cup, Vozinha started all four of Cape Verde’s matches.
He kept two clean sheets and conceded five goals.
Vozinha also finished with a 78 per cent save percentage.
His outstanding displays have also reportedly helped him amass more than 28 million Instagram followers as his profile has continued to grow around the world.
David Beckham has remained active in the transfer market across his football projects.
Earlier this summer, he and Gary Neville also oversaw the signing of goalkeeper Sam Long for Salford City.
Inter Miami now appear to be exploring another experienced option between the posts, with Vozinha’s leadership and recent form making him an attractive candidate.
The 40-year-old currently plays for Portuguese side Chaves, but O Jogo report that interest from Beckham’s Inter Miami is growing after his memorable World Cup campaign.
Whether a deal materialises remains to be seen, but Vozinha has undoubtedly emerged as one of the biggest surprise stories of the tournament and is now attracting attention from one of football’s most recognisable ownership groups.
