Sir Jim Ratcliffe officially appoints son of club legend

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has one of the toughest jobs in world football as he attempts to restore Manchester United to their former glory.

The INEOS chairman become co-owner of United in 2024.

However, the latest addition has arrived elsewhere within the INEOS football network.

INEOS welcome familiar name to club

OGC Nice have officially appointed Pierre Amitrano as a video analyst for their first team.

The Ligue 1 side confirmed the appointment through their official X account, joking that an “Andre Amitrano vibe” around the club was completely normal.

Pierre is the son of former Nice goalkeeper Andre Amitrano, who made more than 200 appearances for the club during the 1980s.

Andre initially joined Nice on loan from AS Monaco in 1982 before completing a permanent move one year later.

He later helped the club win promotion back to the French top flight and later played an important role as Nice reached the Coupe de France semi-finals.

His lengthy spell and more than 200 appearances make him a significant figure in the club’s history.

Nice are another club owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS alongside their minority stake in Manchester United.

Reports have claimed Ratcliffe has explored selling the French side.

However, the club have continued making changes ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Pierre will now begin working behind the scenes as part of Nice’s first-team setup, continuing his family’s long association with the club.
