Real Betis are already negotiating a deal to extend the stay of Manchester United wide forward Antony during the summer. Antony played a pivotal role for Betis this season since joining them in the January window on a loan deal.

Baptist finished sixth in the La Liga last season, managing to secure a spot in the Europa League next season. The Sevilla-based club also reached the Conference Cup final in their last campaign, losing 4-1 to Premier League side Chelsea.

Despite Antony’s failure to help Betis beat Chelsea in the Conference Cup final, the Spanish side wants him to stay. The 25-year-old has contributed consistently for Betis this season since joining the club, showcasing rejuvenation after a disastrous United tenure.

The Brazil international played 26 games in all competitions for Betis last season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists. Antony’s incredible contribution highlights the gain in confidence that he enjoyed under Manuel Pellegrini’s managerial leadership during his loan spell.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Betis are already negotiating a deal with United to keep Antony for the next season. United signed the 25-year-old under Erik ten Hag for £82m, as he failed to live up to the huge expectations.

United are facing financial turmoil right now, making a potential season-long loan deal complicated when they need to raise funds. The Red Devils finished last season in 16th position in the Premier League and frustratingly lost the Europa League final.

Ruben Amorim needs players to kickstart his project at the club and change United’s fortune despite their current financial difficulties. The Red Devils have to sell their surplus players to raise funds to buy the players that Amorim desperately needs.

Antony is one of the players that Amorim wants to sell during the summer transfer window after finding him incompatible with his style of play. However, United are struggling to find a suitor ready to meet the club’s valuation and accept Antony’s massive wage demands. According to the reports, even Betis would ask the 25-year-old to accept a salary reduction to make the deal easier.
