After a long wait, Major League Soccer's St. Louis franchise finally has a name: St. Louis City SC.
The announcement was made Thursday by majority owner Carolyn Kindle Betz and Cardinals broadcaster Dan McLoughlin. The Kindle Betz family owns the Enterprise rental car company, which has its name on the home of the St. Louis Blues' Enterprise Center.
The team's colors are red, blue and yellow, which coincides with the city's flag. The crest includes a silhouette of the Gateway Arch and the rivers that run through the city.

St. Louis City SC will begin play in 2023, delayed a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. They will play in a 22,500-seat, soccer-specific stadium near Union Station.
ESPN soccer analyst and former New England Revolution star Taylor Twellman, who is a native of St. Louis, has been advocating for the franchise since it was just an idea. Similarly, NBA star Bradley Beal also has been publicly advocating for the franchise.
