Steven Gerrard insists Arsenal man is world class

Steven Gerrard has commented on Declan Rice again and insists the Arsenal man is simply a world-class player as he helped the Gunners draw against Bayern Munich last night. Rice is a superb midfielder and has been so good that most people have not been talking about his transfer fee, even though he remains one of the most expensive players in the world, and the most expensive player in Arsenal’s history.

The former West Ham man cost more than 100m euros and he is a player that Arsenal was sure would do well, but that was a huge fee for a midfielder and he could have struggled. Rice famously said he should be judged at the end of his career and not at the start, and so far, he is set to prove everyone that doubted him wrong.

Gerrard’s Praise for Rice

The midfielder is one of the top players on the team and the England national team as well and Arsenal is sure that they have a quality player in him, with Gerrard clearly a fan of the ex-Chelsea academy star. The Liverpool icon said via Metro Sports:

“Forget about that, Declan Rice is a world-class midfielder and that was a top, top goal.”

Gerrard’s praise is significant, as he knows what it takes to perform at the highest level, and his endorsement carries weight. Rice’s performances have silenced the doubters, and his value to Arsenal is clear.
