Manchester United are continually looking at how to improve the club, with Ruben Amorim tasked with restoring the side back to their former winning ways.

However, to do so, United are having to go through a major squad overhaul.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expecting it to take around six transfer windows to make United competitive again, with Amorim being given three years to prove himself.

As such, Phase One came this summer with a whole new attacking line moving to Old Trafford, with Senne Lammens also being signed in goal.

However, United are now being reported as monitoring Malmo’s shot-stopper, Melker Ellborg.

The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Swedish side since graduating from their academy, keeping seven clean sheets so far.

Now, the goalkeeper has spoken out about United’s interest.

Speaking to Expressen, Ellborg commented: “It came a bit out of nowhere but of course it’s fun to be on those clubs’ radar. It’s awesome.”

He continued: “But for now, a rumour is just a rumour. As long as there’s nothing concrete, it’s not something I focus on.

“The deal between me and my advisors is that I get on with it and focus on my own. They take care of the rest.”
