Oxford United will be looking to capitalise on their first victory of the season when winless Sheffield United visit Grenoble Road.
The U’s saw off Bristol City at Ashton Gate last time out and are unbeaten in three following credible draws at home against Coventry and Leicester. Nik Prelec, Przemyslaw Placheta and Greg Leigh all opened their account for the season in the victory at Ashton Gate.
As for Sheffield United, they began life back under Chris Wilder with a late defeat at home against Charlton. As a result, the Blades have become only the fourth team in Championship history to lose their opening six games. Also, they’ve failed to score in any of the last five, with just one goal coming in the opening day defeat against Bristol City.
Ben Davies missed the trip to Bristol after making his debut against Leicester, but it’s believed not to be a long-term injury, unlike Matt Phillips, who could be out for some time after picking up a quad injury in the same game. Other than that, there are no other concerns for Gary Rowett. Skipper Cameron Brannagan became a father on Sunday but is expected to play.
The Blades are without Oliver Arblaster, Tom Davies, Jamie Shackleton and summer signing Danny Ings.
Oxford won this fixture 1-0 last season, a result which all but confirmed their second-tier status for another campaign. However, that was a first victory in six with the Blades winning the other five fixtures, including two at Grenoble Road.
