Yves Bissouma has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, and clubs like West Ham and Everton have been mentioned as potential destinations.
However, Keith Wyness has heard that West Ham are favourites to sign the 29-year-old midfielder. The Mali International needs to leave to play regularly, and moving to West Ham could be ideal for him. They need a quality defensive midfielder who will help them tighten up at the back, and the Tottenham star certainly fits the profile.
The 29-year-old has not been at his best over the last 12 months, and he has been criticised for his performances. Newly appointed manager Thomas Frank has criticised the midfielder for his lack of professionalism as well. The African does not have a future at Tottenham, and it would be ideal for him to move on quickly.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider: “I think the club that’s probably favourite in the race for Bissouma is West Ham.
“I just think that he would want to stay in London. That’s what I’m hearing, that the family would be keen to stay where they are in North London, so there’d be no uprooting there.
“Also, Moyes is now in a strong position, particularly with midfielders, so I don’t think he’d necessarily have to take a chance on somebody coming back from an injury, whereas I think West Ham probably do. So I think it points all the way towards West Ham.”
Bissouma has been linked with multiple Turkish and Saudi Arabian clubs in recent weeks. However, he wants to stay in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether West Ham can get the deal done. He could be available for a reasonable amount of money. He is still very much at the peak of his career, and if he manages to regain his peak form, he could be an asset for the club.
