Joao Pedro wants a move to Barcelona and the club want him too. This could start to get difficult for Chelsea.
Our writer Simon Phillips has been looking at some of the information coming in from Spain about Barcelona’s interest in Joao Pedro, and he comes to the same conclusions as most of us.
Phillips concludes that the constant pressure from Spanish media – the latest from Barca superfan Gerard Romero, must be getting encouragement from somewhere. Presumably it’s coming from JP, who Phillips says “wants the move.”
“The problem for Pedro is that he is tied to Chelsea on a long contract, and Chelsea are not listening to any offers for him right now,” Phillips writes.
“But the fact that even Barcelona insider Gerard Romero is now speaking on Pedro to Barcelona, and Barca have officials in London right now meeting with Pedro’s people and trying to force a move, tells me that EVERYONE wants this move other than Chelsea.”
There is no immediate need for us to sell, but one feels that Barca and JP are only going to crank up the pressure.
Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has claimed that he would score more goals today were he playing – and we agree, frankly.
We’ve not heard much about Estevao’s hamstring injury in recent weeks, but in Brazil they’re starting to get a timeline for the winger’s recovery.
