Chelsea don’t intend to review the position of Liam Rosenior until summer 2027 at the earliest according to David Ornstein.

Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca in January and signed a six and half year contract at Stamford Bridge, although there’s understood to be a break clause.

The 41-year-old made a good start to his tenure, but has come under growing pressure for a series of poor results, with Chelsea outside the Champions League places in sixth.

A run of four consecutive defeats was ended with a 7-0 win against Port Vale in the FA Cup last week, but that will do little to alleviate the pressure.

It’s been reported failure to qualify for the Champions League could cost Rosenior his job, and the Blues face a tough task to secure a top five finish with seven games remaining.

However, Chelsea are reportedly still backing Rosenior, but football is a result’s based business and he needs to start picking up positive ones quickly.

The former Strasbourg boss has been accused of losing the dressing room, with many fans wanting him replaced, and Ornstein has provided an update on his future.

“To my knowledge they don’t intend to review the coaching position until at the earliest the Summer of 2027,” he told NBC Sports as quoted on X.com.

“At the end of his first full season which was the case for Pochettino and Maresca as well.”

Chelsea will be without Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah for Sunday’s game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

It’s been confirmed James is back on the pitch running again, but this game comes too soon for him, and Chelsea will have to find a way of winning without one of their best players and captain.
