Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, and they have already identified a replacement for him.
Southampton attacker Tyler Dibling is reportedly on the radar of Tottenham as they look to replace the Brazilian. The 19-year-old is highly rated in England, and he has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past as well.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham failed with a £35 million offer to sign the player during the January transfer window, and they are now planning to return for him.
The player is reportedly valued at around £55 million this summer, but Tottenham will be hoping to sign him for a more reasonable amount of money. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.
Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider: “Spurs bid £35million in January, which Southampton quickly rejected.
“That valuation of £55million asking price might be too high… Spurs will be hoping they can negotiate with Southampton and get him for £40–£ 45 million.
“With Son staying, Dibling linked, and Richarlison likely to be moved on… there’s got to be some restructuring at Tottenham this summer.”
The Southampton attacker could be the ideal replacement for Richarlison. He is capable of operating on either flank, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. He’s regarded as one of the finest young talents in the country right now. Tottenham could nurture him into a future star. If they manage to replace the Brazilian with Dibling, it would be a wise decision for them.
The former Everton striker has not been able to live up to expectations, and he has struggled with injuries as well. This could be the right time for Tottenham to move him on and replace him with a younger and more talented player.
It will be interesting to see if they can negotiate a reasonable deal for the highly-rated attacker. The youngster could be attracted to the idea of joining Tottenham this summer. He will not want to compete in the championship with Southampton, and staying in the Premier League would be ideal for him.
