Tottenham interested in Pascal Struijk

Although Tottenham Hotspur brought in Kota Takai and Kevin Danso to their squad in the last summer transfer window, they were looking to bolster their backline even further in this market, especially in the latter phase of the window.

They were linked with some notable names, but were unable to land any of them. Piero Hincapie was one player associated with them, but he ended up joining their cross-town rivals Arsenal, while they could not land Manuel Akanji or Nathan Ake from Manchester City either.

Now, with it been some weeks since the end of the summer transfer window, Spurs continue to be linked with other defenders in the market. In this regard, CaughtOffside reports that one player whom they are interested in is the Leeds United center-back Pascal Struijk.

The 26-year-old Dutch defender has made his way to the Leeds first team from the youth academy, and his journey so far has also raised his demand in the market quite a bit as he continues to impress with his defensive skills.

The fact that he has his left foot as the stronger makes him quite a rare player in the market and this also explains why the Lilywhites have been keeping an eye on him. They have been monitoring him for quite some time now, but the time to make a move for him might be ripening as he has only two years remaining on his Leeds United contract.

A move to Spurs would be a step up for the Dutchman

Meanwhile, a move to Tottenham might also be an attractive prospect for Struijk, as this will be a significant step up in his career. He will get to play for a team that will not only be a contender for the Premier League title, but which will also be playing in the UEFA Champions League.

For now, Leeds United will be looking to agree a new contract with the defender to ensure they do not lose him for free. However, it remains to be seen how the player responds, and whether he will be tempted to join it Tottenham makes a move for him in the coming months.
