Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment plans in recent seasons have been very well thought-out, with a lot of emphasis being placed on young talents with an eye on the future.

This has included techniques like signing players at a very young age and allowing them to develop elsewhere on loan before bringing them to the club when they turn 18. This is exactly how Tottenham signed Croatian gem Luka Vuskovic.

Even apart from this, the club have signed young talents who have then joined the Spurs academy to continue their development. It looks like the North London club are keen on continuing along the same lines this summer as well.

Tottenham set to rival Man Utd for Kevin Filling

Now, as per Swedish outlet Expressen (h/t Give Me Sport), Tottenham are looking to rival Manchester United for the signature of talented young AIK striker Kevin Filling.

The report mentions that the Lilywhites have made a concrete attempt to try and sign the teenager. The club have taken note of the 16-year-old’s rapid development in recent times and want to snap him up before other clubs take notice.

The U-17 Swedish international was given his first-team debut in June and scored in his first ever senior appearance. Shortly after, he was handed his first professional contract until 2028.

Very ambitious Swedish striker

Dubbed as a player who is “very ambitious”, many European clubs are interested in signing Filling but AIK have no intention to part ways with him. They tout him to be a big part of their plans and don’t want to entertain the sale.

The best play for Tottenham would be to keep following how Filling develops in the upcoming seasons and should he impress, they can always return to sign him in the future.

It remains to be seen how Spurs go about signing Kevin Filling from AIK, especially with Manchester United lurking. Only time will tell how it plays out going forward.
