Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their attacking unit with the signing of the Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding in the Premier League, and he scored 20 goals last season. He managed to pick up nine assists along the way as well. There is no doubt that he is one of the best attackers in the league right now, and he would be an exceptional acquisition from Tottenham.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has labelled him as an “unbelievable player”.
According to a report from the Sunday Mirror via TEAMtalk, Tottenham are prepared to offer him wages of £130,000 a week. It will be interesting to see if the player is tempted to join them. Apparently, Manchester United have already submitted a better offer to the player. He could earn around £150,000 a week to £200,000 a week if he moves to Old Trafford.
However, Tottenham will be able to offer him Champions League football for the next season, and that could give them a major advantage in any transfer race.
They are in desperate need of a quality wide player, and the 25-year-old would be the ideal acquisition. He is entering the peak years of his career, and he will want to compete at the highest level. Tottenham will be able to provide him with that platform.
Mbeumo will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack. He is capable of operating on the right flank as well as centrally. He could prove to be a major upgrade on players like Richarlison, Mathys Tel and Timo Werner.
Werner has already left upon the expiry of his loan deal, and Tel faces an uncertain future at the club. Tottenham must look to bring in reliable attacking options this summer. Along with Mbeumo, they should invest in a reliable centre forward as well.
