Tottenham Hotspur are up against Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Europa League, and they are currently 1-0 up at half time.

It has been a scrappy game from both teams, and Tottenham will be delighted to have their necks in front. The North London outfit have taken the lead through an own goal from Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

However, they will need to raise their performance levels in the second half if they want to win the game. They have struggled to control the game in the middle of the park, and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has now set an unwanted record in the final.

According to BBC Sport, the Tottenham midfielder is the only central midfielder in the Europa League this season who has failed to complete a pass in the first 30 minutes of a game.

There is no doubt that he is a talented young midfielder with a bright future, but he will need to step up his performance levels in the biggest game of the season. Tottenham are in desperate need of winning the trophy, and they cannot afford to be lacklustre in the middle of the park.

Manchester United have more experience in the midfield, and Spurs will not want them controlling the tempo of the game. It will be interesting to see if Sarr can step up and help Tottenham dominate the midfield in the second half of the final.
