Fulham have called to enquire about Chelsea winger Tyrique George, but Roma have scheduled more direct talks with the player according to Fabrizio Romano.
George is one of a number players expected to leave before the end of the window, and he played his first minutes of the season in Saturday’s win against Fulham.
The 19-year-old was promoted to the first team squad last season, and is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy.
However, George made it clear earlier this summer he wanted to leave Chelsea in order to get more regular first team football.
The teenager has dropped down the pecking order following the arrivals of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho.
George has attracted interest from Italian side Roma, who are believed to have made an offer for the winger, but Romano has revealed a Premier League side are also interested.
He took to X.com and said:
“AS Roma have scheduled new direct talks for Tyrique George deal after he played for Chelsea today.
“Negotiations underway on permanent deal with heavy sell-on clause.
“Understand Fulham also called but AS Roma try to anticipate other clubs.”
George made 26 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season, and scored his first Premier League goal in a 2-1 win away at Fulham.
With George set leave the club, Chelsea are close to finalising a shock loan move for Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte.
The Blues have reached an agreement with the Seagulls for a season loan, and the 20-year-old is set to undergo his medical in London on Sunday.
The Argentina international spent last season on loan at Leicester where he scored six goals and registered three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.
Buonanotte is expected to provide cover in both the number ten and right wing positions with Chelsea looking to compete on four fronts this season.
