Usain Bolt’s Five-Word Reaction to Manchester United vs. Grimsby EFL Cup Upset

Former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt — who was once known as the fastest man in the world — is a huge Manchester United fan. He has never shied away from showing his support for the club, often posting about the Red Devils to cheer them on.

On Wednesday, however, Bolt couldn't hide his disappointment after watching Manchester United fall in the EFL Cup ... to a League Two team (the fourth-tier of English football), no less.

Manchester United Hit Embarrassing Low Point, Usain Bolt Sad

Manchester United had to battle back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to force a penalty shootout against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup.

Grimsby scored two goals in a span of eight minutes, with Charles Vernam opening the scoring in the 22nd minute before Tyler Warren took advantage of Andre Onana's goalkeeping error to put them up 2-nil.

Two late goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire, however, allowed the Red Devils to tie things up at 2-2 and take the match into a penalty shootout.

While fans thought that Manchester United would be able to turn the tables against a team that is leagues below them, that wasn't the case. A lengthy penalty shootout saw Ruben Amorim's team lose 12-11.

According to ESPN, it's the first time that Manchester United have been eliminated by a fourth-tier England team in a cup competition, further highlighting the team's struggles under Amorim.

Bolt, for his part, quickly shared his reaction to Manchester United's EFL Cup exit on social media. On X, his frustration was clear.

"The Heavens is Falling.. sigh," the eight-time Olympic gold medalist wrote.

Sure enough, Bolt is not alone. Several United fans expressed disappointment with the team, while others clowned the club for their disastrous start to the English football campaign,

Should Ruben Amorim Get Sacked?

With the latest result, Manchester United remain winless in three games. They have one draw and one loss in the English Premier League.

It's also worth noting that since Amorim took over, he has managed more games (29) than points earned (28). It's certainly a troubling sign for a historic club like Manchester United that have massive expectations every year.

Naturally, following the club's latest loss, there have been plenty of calls for Manchester United to sack their manager.

"Fire Amorim now. We can still save the season if he's fired now," a fan wrote. Another frustrated follower shared, "We need to get rid of Amorim as soon as possible. We should enquire about bringing Xavi as head coach. If we do not fire this manager early in the season I genuinely think we will see a repeat of last season or possibly worse. Xavi will play a 4-3-3 most likely. Onana must go."

"Man United needs to fire Amorim Ruben ASP," a commenter stated. A fourth social media user remarked, "You can’t lose to a League Two team if you’re Man United. You have to fire Amorim."

It remains to be seen what Man United will do, but one thing is clear: Amorim needs to turn things around quickly if he wants to keep his job. After all, losing to a fourth-tier team is just a bad look.
