USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams suffered an injury in the early parts of the Manchester United vs Bournemouth match, which finished in a 4-4 draw at Old Trafford.
The American holding midfielder blocked a shot from Man United striker Matheus Cunha in the third minute of the match, and Adams immediately went down, holding his knee.
Concerns grew for USMNT fans as the 2026 World Cup is less than six months away. Adams walked off the pitch as he was replaced by Alex Scott.
After the 4-4 draw, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola spoke in the post-match press conference, and he was asked for an update on Tyler Adams.
Iraola calls Adams' injury the worst news out of the match, even though Bournemouth continues to not secure a win in the last seven matches in the Premier League.
Iraola mentions that Adams did not twist his knee but does think it may be an MCL injury. Iraola said, "I think it's the worst news from the game. I think it's just the MCL. But we have to check him and see if it's just a small sprain... It's bad news for us because Tyler is massive for us."
With Iraola assuming that Adams may have suffered an MCL injury, many fans wonder how long the American midfielder may be injured for.
In case of a mild MCL injury, Adams could be out between one to three weeks. A moderate MCL injury could keep him out for about four to six weeks.
A severe MCL injury could see a player be out for about six weeks to several months.
