As USMNT superstar Christian Pulisic prepares to lead the United States into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he's been dealing with the fallout of a rather public breakout with his now-ex-girlfriend Alexa Melton.
Ahead of the World Cup, Pulisic did an interview with Time magazine back in February. While Melton was more than happy to put Pulisic on blast for his alleged use of the Raya dating app while they were together, Pulisic made it clear that he held no animosity towards her.
“I only look at her in the most positive way,” Pulisic said. “She was a lot of fun, and she supported me in every way. She wanted to push me to enjoy my life a little bit more and do things with her and do things just in general. And I was grateful for that.”
Pulisic would not reveal the exact reason behind their split.

Melton, meanwhile, took a different approach when the two were in the midst of their breakup.
In April, she made some eyebrow-raising comments on various Instagram pages talking about the breakup.
“This generational fumble will be studied for years to come," one IG user remarked.
To which Melton replied, “How many likes to post his Raya profile?"
In a separate comment she wrote, "Mans was on Raya before it even ended.”
But Melton might have realized that she took things too far with some of her comments. On April 9 she wrote in her Instagram Story that she "received false info" and apologized for implying that Pulisic may have cheated on her.
“I’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context,” she wrote. “I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine.
“Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter.”
Pulisic will be back in the United States later this month for friendlies against Senegal and Germany before the USMNT kick off their World Cup campaign in Group D against Paraguay.
