Marko Arnautovic was made to slightly regret his fantastic assist for Lautaro Martinez as Inter beat Cagliari 3-1, because he was rewarded with a surprise bear hug and a kick up the backside.
The Austria international had already opened the scoring at San Siro when he added an assist to his tally, sweeping a marvellous first-time pass from the left touchline to send Lautaro Martinez through.
As he was positioned so close to the Inter bench, coach Simone Inzaghi was able to pounce on the striker even before the dinked finish had gone into the net, leaping onto Arnautovic with a bear hug.
It wasn’t all, because teammate Marcus Thuram leapt up from the bench and gave the veteran a repeated boot up the backside in celebration.
The pair are very good friends and Thuram had already rushed onto the pitch to hug him after the opening goal, so felt he needed to do something different for the assist.
Arna turns 36 next week and has contributed seven goals with two assists in 22 competitive games for Inter so far this season.
