West Ham are seeking clarity regarding the status of Karren Brady, following her recent discussions with fans pushing for changes at the club.

Frustrated supporters have been stepping up their calls for transparency and action from the club’s hierarchy.

Feeling increasingly disconnected from the way things are being run, fans have once again organised protests against West Ham’s board.

The situation took a significant turn when ownership agreed to sit down with the Fan Advisory Board, which serves as a voice for numerous fan groups across the club.

West Ham fans to get answers after Karren Brady meeting

On Thursday, September 11th, the West Ham United Independent Supporters Committee said they had arranged a meeting with a club board member and promised to share their views in a ‘frank and professional manner’.

The WHUISC has turned down opportunities to take their grievances public through the media.

Instead, they have stated their preference for constructive dialogue with the board, seeking assurances that steps will be taken to meet ‘realistic ambitions far removed from relegation threat’.

The group also made it clear they wanted to avoid any ‘public war of words’, believing that would only make things worse when what’s needed is a calm approach.

The meeting followed a letter sent nearly two weeks earlier by the West Ham United Fan Advisory Board, addressed to shareholders David Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky, Albert Tripp Smith and Vanessa Gold. The letter included a “vote of no confidence” in how they were running things.

In that same letter fans demanded the hiring of high calibre professionals to run the club on a daily basis – something which those same executives have claimed our club has.

Karren Brady is currently overseeing West Ham’s day-to-day operations.

And WHUISC has since confirmed it was Baroness Brady who attended Thursday night’s meeting with them.

West Ham seek clarification on Brady’s future following fan meeting

Following her meeting with the fan group, West Ham are now seeking clarification on whether Karren Brady intends to step down from her role.

Following a poor start to the new season at Sunderland, vice-chair Brady insisted that West Ham’s owners had no intention of leaving the club.

Majority owner David Sullivan and Brady have become central figures in protests organised by fan group Hammers United, who have adopted the slogan ‘No more BS’ using their initials.

The WHUISC confirmed that it was indeed Brady who attended the meeting with the Fan Advisory Board and followed up with a short but potentially significant statement.

The full minutes of the meeting are expected to be released next week once they have been finalised.

According to WHUISC, the meeting indicates that West Ham’s ownership is taking fan concerns seriously.

There was also speculation about whether Brady might be considering stepping down after she was directly asked about it by a supporter during the session. The group then added: “(It) proves that the club are treating this as serious.”

West Ham fans call for leadership changes at the club

Over the summer, Hammers News detailed how Brady’s role at West Ham was growing, even as talk of her departure lingered.

Baroness Brady has never been particularly popular with the fanbase.

The way she once referred to supporters as “customers,” along with broken promises surrounding the move from Upton Park to London Stadium—something she once called “the most successful stadium migration ever”—haven’t helped her standing.

In the past, Brady could point to how she improved West Ham’s financial health after joining in 2010.

But now, with more than £100m in projected losses expected in December’s accounts and a summer transfer window hampered by PSR concerns while other clubs spent heavily, her position looks much weaker than before.
