Whitecaps transfer D Joedrick Pupe to Belgian club

Vancouver Whitecaps defender Joedrick Pupe was transferred to Belgium's Sint-Truidense VV on Tuesday.

The Whitecaps will retain a percentage of future transfer fees for Pupe, who joins the Belgian Pro League side on a permanent deal following the loan.

"We are thankful to Joedrick for his contributions to our club and wish him the best of luck with Sint-Truidense VV," said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director.

Pupe, 29, appeared in two matches during last year's playoffs for Vancouver. He also recorded one goal in 10 appearances for the Belgian side.
