Arsenal head to Anfield tonight to face Liverpool in the Premier League. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m. BST (11:30 am ET) on Sunday, August 31. The match will be live on Sky Sports and internationally. Both teams need early momentum in the league but Arsenal will have to do it without one of their key players.
BukayoSaka is out tonight after injuring his hamstring in Arsenal’s 5–0 win over Leeds United on August 23.
He pulled up in the second half and was taken off immediately and subsequent scans confirmed he’ll be out for a few weeks.
Manager Mikel Arteta said it’s on the opposite leg to the hamstring he suffered last season, but Arteta said this one is less serious. He’s also out of England duty.
Before the Liverpool game, Mikael Arteta said Saka’s hamstring issues are “a big concern” but tried to reassure by saying this one is not as bad as the previous one.
"No surgery. It's not as bad as the previous one. Obviously it's very unfortunate to pick it up but it's on the other side."
"It's an action that requires full power from him. He felt something, so he will be out for a couple of weeks.
"Let's see how he evolves in the next few days and weeks, repeat the scan and see where he's at, " Areta told reporters in his pre-match press conference.

For Arsenal, losing their most dangerous wide player is a big problem. Saka has been the team’s main attacking threat over the past two seasons and his absence means Arteta has to look elsewhere.
Captain Martin Ødegaard who has been managing a shoulder issue is pushing to be fit while Kai Havertz is out after knee surgery. That means new signing Eberechi Eze may have to take on more creative responsibility on his debut and ease some of the pressure left by Saka’s absence.
