Chelsea Man City is 0-0 at half time and Liam Rosenior’s team have done well – but there’s something he saw which annoyed him.
Bobby Vincent of Football London is at the Chelsea Man City game, and he noticed an agitated Chelsea manager reacting on the sidelined.
“Liam Rosenior becoming increasingly frustrated at his Chelsea players for repeatedly giving it away in their own half,” Vincent noted right at the end of the first period.
It wasn’t the first time the Chelsea boss had showed signs of annoyance. After the Blues’ fourth of five offsides in the first period, Rosenior smacked his palm with his first with frustration as another good opportunity went begging.
The manager had every right to be frustrated – not only were his players giving the ball away, they had also not made the most of Man City’s own sloppiness. The Blues had a number of chances through that first period, but didn’t test Gigi Donnarumma nearly enough.
In the second period the Chelsea boss will want his players to keep up their attitude, but add a more clinical edge, and tidy up their play in possession too. Right now it’s an even game because both teams are making mistakes. But City are bound to up their game tomorrow.
Marcos Senesi looks to be a top Chelsea target for this summer, and there’s been an update on our interest in him.
