The Vancouver Whitecaps will face Sporting Kansas City in Matchday 8 of the MLS season. The home side currently sits first in the Western Conference, while the visitors are at the bottom of the standings.
On the Whitecaps’ official Instagram account, a photo was posted featuring their captain and star, Thomas Müller, previewing the match, suggesting that his participation in today’s game is all but confirmed.
The match will be played at BC Place at 10:30 ET, in what appears to be a game the Whitecaps shouldn’t have too many complications handling.
On a cool Canadian night, Thomas Müller will be part of the Vancouver Whitecaps’ starting XI. The German legend has played all seven matches this season and has scored three goals so far in the league.
The Whitecaps’ lineup will feature their key players, with Yohei Takaoka in goal. The back four will consist of Édier Ocampo at right back, alongside Mathías Laborda, Tristan Blackmon, and Tate Johnson in defense.
In midfield, the team will line up with Berhalter, Cubas, Badwal, and Sabaly, with Thomas Müller playing a central role, linking the defense with the attack. Up front, Brian White will lead the line as the striker.
Thomas Müller has been a key figure for the Whitecaps since his arrival, leading them to an MLS final and winning a Canadian Championship in his first season with the club.
His signing came at a crucial time, as the team looked to compete with the growing impact of Lionel Messi in the league.
The German star ignited a surge in the club’s marketing efforts and simultaneously raised the team’s performance on the pitch, transforming them into genuine contenders in every competition.
This time, Thomas Müller comes in highly motivated to win the MLS title that slipped away from them last year.
