Manchester United’s January plans have been disrupted once again by injury. With the transfer window entering its final stages, the club has been open to temporary exits for several young players in need of senior minutes, one of whom is Rhys Bennett, who is currently in talks over a move to Fleetwood Town that includes a buy clause.
Fleetwood Town are holding onto their place in League Two sitting in the bottom half of the table in the second half of the season. The Fishermen are currently in 15th place, sat 17 points above the relegation zone, currently occupied by Newport County and Harrogate Town.
Back in October, Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett sadly lost his father, and has now opened up on issues he has faced off the pitch. Bennett, who captained United to the FA Youth Cup 2022 alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, scored in the 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest in the final.
League Two side Fleetwood Town have confirmed the signing of Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett on a season-long loan. The young centre-back travelled to the United States this summer for United’s pre-season tour, and made substitute appearances against Arsenal and Liverpool.
Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett will spend the rest of the season on loan at League Two leaders Stockport County. The young centre-back has completed his first loan move of his career and it will be a fantastic opportunity to get his first taste of senior football, as confirmed by Manchester United this evening.
