First Look: DJ Fisher’s $50 Million Luxury High-Rise

The late, great American novelist Mark Twain, allegedly, once said something to the effect of: “Buy land; they’re not making it anymore.”

And while Twain’s advice has a twinge of flippancy, the age-old adage referring to real estate as a sound investment still rings true today. Many who acquire wealth subsequently – and perhaps frugally – sink their riches into acquiring land, or commercial, or residential developments.

Paul Fisher, the former professional surfer and funny man turned international DJ, is heeding that advice amidst his illustrious career behind the decks, and part-time businessman, by developing a $50 million high-rise on the Gold Coast of Australia. Check out the first look at the digs below.

“For me, it’s super special,” said Fisher. “I grew up in Palm Beach. Jefferson Lane was my place that I used to ride my bike up and down, and surf from 19th down to 2nd Avenue. I just love it here.”

The name for the new high-rise? Pescado.

“‘Pescado’ in Spanish is fish,” he explained. “Just from living in Ibiza, everyone calls me Pescado, so we thought we’d bring that back to Palm Beach.”

Featured in the new building, there will be six luxury apartments, each on their own floor. Each unit will have three bedrooms, three baths, and they’ll come with access to a pool, cold plunge, and gym. And Fisher’s wife, Chloe, will be leading the charge on the interior design.

“We’ve been very lucky to experience some extremely beautiful hotels and Airbnb’s and resorts,” Chloe said. “So, we’ve kinda just hand-picked our favorite parts from our travels.”

Additionally, the beachside development will feature a two-story penthouse on the top floor. And that one, that one’s reserved for the Fish and his family. The DJ continued:

“We’re gonna take the top one, because it’s our dream home. We just want six other lucky people to come join us.”

Starting price for one of the other units? $5.25 mill.
