Despite raising the greatest surfer of all time, Kelly Slater, Florida is not very well-known for its world-class waves. Sharks, for sure; but the surf is fickle.
And so, Florida surfers rejoice, as a new wave pool is coming to the Sunshine State, with a slated grand opening later this year.
Below, take a sneak peek at The Point, the latest wave pool joint from Endless Surf.
“To be a Florida surfer, it’s a struggle,” says aerial sorcerer Robbie “Rasta Rob” McCormick. “It’s not the most ideal thing I would say. We’re always searching for waves, driving up the coast. Now it’s, like, finally happening. And everyone is pretty mind-blown, just psyched.”
Per the press release about the impending opening of the surf park:
“Florida has one of the most active surf communities in the U.S., but also some of the most inconsistent waves. Long flat spells and short swell windows have always been part of the experience, limiting time in the water for surfers across the state.
“For years, surf park concepts have been proposed here, but few have moved beyond the idea stage.
“The Point is changing that -- now under construction and set to make waves in 2026.
“Located just inland from Sebastian Inlet, the project sits within one of Florida’s most established surf regions, while drawing from a broader population across the state—within driving distance of Orlando, Miami, and Tampa. Designed as a standalone surf destination, it’s built to support consistent use, year-round visitation, and long-term economic activity for the surrounding community.
“At the center of the project is Endless Surf’s next-generation wave technology.”
As for the pool? What can folks expect?
“Using air pressure to generate waves with precision and repeatability, the system allows full control over shape, size, speed, intervals, etc. Multiple zones can run simultaneously, enabling different wave types at the same time—so surfers of all levels can be in the water together.
“Wave profiles are fully customizable and can be adjusted throughout the day, supporting everything from learn-to-surf sessions to high-performance training and events. Built for both progression and capacity, the system delivers consistent, high-quality waves while maintaining the throughput needed for daily operation.”
Stay tuned; Florida is set to be pumping later this year.
