Setting Your Fantasy Surfer Team for Portugal? Watch This First

The MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal at Supertubos starts in two days.

With raw swell, big tides, and shifting winds, Supertubos is one of the more challenging stops on the Championship Tour. One heat might see spitting 10-point tubes, and the next a ripped out lineup with hardly a score to be found.

The forecast for this year is another mixed bag: Likely some big tubes one day, with wonky winds and swell the next, so the winner will have to adapt day to day, and heat to heat.

If you play Fantasy Surfer, picking a team for Portugal can feel like a crapshoot. Fortunately, filmer Peyton Willard is posted up at Supertubos capturing all of the freesurf action.

In the clips above, filmed yesterday and the day before and featuring Italo Ferreira, Griffin Colapinto, Connor O'Leary, Cole Houshmand, and more, we see Supertubos during some very not-so-super days. Despite the strong winds and weird rips, the CT's stars still make it look fun. Well, sometimes. The rad thing about these clips is that Willard also includes the bogs and botched drops, which gives us a more realistic perspective of what it's like out there, and might even help you decide between who to add and who to drop on your own Fantasy squad.

It's not exactly insider trading, but still, anything helps.
