With Final 8 spots on the line heading into Finals Day of the Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic, Honolua Blomfield and Edouard Delpero dug deep for momentous wins. A remarkable run through Finals Day ended in a memorable victory for Blomfield, besting event standout Avalon Gall on her last opportunity to strike back, and posted a 9.27 to overtake the lead. The three-time World Longboard Champion, Blomfield, had to get past fellow Hawaiian Kelis Kaleopa’a in the Quarters and Longboard Tour veteran Chloe Calmon in the Semifinals. Now, she moves to No. 3 on the rankings heading into the World Longboard Title showdown in El Salvador. Dominant performances from start to finish, Delpero finished his dream run through the Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic with a win over former World Longboard Champion Steven Sawyer. Delpero’s excellent showcase started in the Quarterfinals against Oliver Packham, posting a 17.77 heat total, before taking down reigning World Longboard Champ Taylor Jensen in the Semifinals. Delpero’s surge takes him all the way to No. 1 to close out the regular season. Now, the Surf City El Salvador Longboard Championships will begin on November 5 through 9
