Ashleigh Barty faced Elina Svitolina in the WTA Finals 2019 in Shenzhen. The former Australian Tennis player won one of the biggest matches of her career and claimed the then-biggest prize money in the history of the WTA.

The veteran bagged a prize money of $4.42 million, which was the highest in 2019, and remained so for five years. The win and the prize money ensured that the WTA Finals became one of the most prestigious titles.

Coco Gauff ($4.8 million)

Coco Gauff won the WTA Finals 2024 in the final against Qinwen Zheng in Riyadh. In the process, the American won a prize money of $4.8 million, which was the new record for a WTA star.

Gauff surpassed the prize money won by Barty in the 2019 WTA Finals. Zheng, who finished as the runner-up, also had a good prize money of $2.305 million. Gauff's record remained intact for under a year.

Aryna Sabalenka ($5 million)
