Earlier this summer Aryna Sabalenka opened up on the support she received from her new boyfriend following the tragic passing of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, who died by suicide in March 2024.
Sabalenka revealed she and Koltsov were not together at the time of his death and later confirmed her new relationship with millionaire business owner Georgios Frangulis. The Brazilian is the founder of Oakberry, a global acaí brand that brings in millions.
Frangulis is a mainstay at Sabalenka’s tournaments and received praise for his support from the No. 1 player in the world. After winning the Cincinnati Open last year, she accidentally revealed could have multiple love interests.
“And of course special thank you to my boyfriends – I said boyfriends, oh my god. That’s my terrible English guys! Thank you to my boyfriend to keep me happy every day. Thank you so much,” she laughed.
“His support means so much to me,” Sabalenka told Us Weeklyin a June 30 article about Frangulis. “Being on the road and having him support me, to make me laugh and to be able to workout together, makes life on the road feel more like home.”
“Traveling is hard on most people, athletes or not,” Sabalenka admitted. “The time changes, the changes in eating habits and lack of hydration makes feeling your best difficult.
Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, made the final in each of the first two major tournaments of the year, but lost both to Americans Madison Keys and Coco Gauff. She made the semifinal at Wimbledon and is looking for her first major title win since last year's U.S. Open.
Sabalenka, the heavy favorite, faces off against American Amanda Anisimova at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
