ATP Brussels Day 2 Predictions Including David Goffin vs Francisco Comesana

After his second Top 10 win of 2025 last week, David Goffin will look to build on his steady form at home in Brussels at the 2025 European Open, an ATP 250 event in Belgium. Alongside Goffin’s matchup, all of the remaining first round matches will feature on Tuesday. Who will advance?

ATP Brussels Day 2 Predictions

Daniel Altmaier vs Gilles Arnaud Bailly

Head-to-head: Altmaier 1-0

All of Bailly’s ATP Tour appearances have come at this very event, and he’s steadily improved in each of his European Open appearances; this time, he is ranked at his career high of World No. 247. Altmaier has been generally reliable against lower ranked players, and while I think Bailly could snatch a set with the home crowd, Altmaier should be too consistent in the end.
Prediction: Altmaier in 3

Zizou Bergs vs Raphael Collignon

Head-to-head: First meeting

Collignon will look to crack the Top 80 in the coming weeks, after building some good form at ATP Challenger Tour events this fall. However, Bergs is a tough out in this all-Belgian matchup, with Bergs notably coming off a tough ATP 1000 Shanghai quarterfinal loss to Novak Djokovic. Bergs has yet to break past the quarterfinals of the European Open, and expect him to be fully focused to try and reach a later stage this week. Expecting a close two-setter, with Bergs having the mental stamina to come out on top.
Prediction: Bergs in 2

Emil Ruusuvuori vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Head-to-head: Mpetshi Perricard 2-0

Mpetshi Perricard loves these courts, with his fast, ripping serve always a weapon on indoor hard courts. The Frenchman will soon have to defend title points from the ATP 500 Basel event, so it’ll be key for him to gain confidence at this tournament. Ruusvuori is dangerous on a good day, but he has been slowly fighting back after a series of injuries, and won’t be able to dictate points against such a heavy hitter like Mpetshi Perricard.

Prediction: Mpetshi Perricard in 2

David Goffin vs Francisco Comesana

Head-to-head: First meeting

Goffin’s ranking has been in-and-out of the Top 100 this season, but a positive win against World No. 6 Ben Shelton in Shanghai showed fans last week that he can compete with the best. The Belgian has been inconsistent, but expect him to pick up his form in front of his home crowd. Comesana is about to finish what has been his most successful ATP Tour season to date, but he has a rather poor 8-12 record on hard courts this season, and is new to the indoor hard-court swing as he played ATP Challenger Tour events on clay last fall. Goffin may drop a set, but he should have the confidence to win.
Prediction: Goffin in 3
