ATP Brussels Quarterfinal Predictions Including Lorenzo Musetti vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Friday’s ATP Brussels quarterfinal matches could be pivotal in the ATP Finals race. Lorenzo Musetti, who occupies the final qualifying spot, and Felix Auger-Aliassime, the man closest to overtaking him, will be in action. As always, we predict all four quarterfinals in Brussels for you.

ATP Brussels Quarterfinal Predictions

Jiri Lehecka vs Benjamin Bonzi

Head-to-head: Lehecka 2-0 Bonzi

Lehecka comfortably won his previous two meetings against Bonzi earlier this year. Although a crafty player, the Frenchman does not possess much natural power. That allowed Lehecka to consistently dictate the rallies and play at a comfortable pace. The indoor conditions may help Bonzi somewhat, but not enough for him to defeat the Czech.
Prediction: Lehecka in 2

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Raphael Collignon

Head-to-head: First meeting

Collignon’s 7-5 3-6 7-6 triumph against Francisco Comesana was the most dramatic match of the tournament. The Belgian will almost certainly need to perform better than that contest against Davidovich Fokina. The Spaniard’s results have been mixed since losing the Citi DC Open final nearly three months ago, but I expect his firepower to prevail here.
Prediction: Davidovich Fokina in 2

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Eliot Spizzirri

Head-to-head: First meeting

Spizzirri played well against Botic van de Zandschulp but did benefit from the Dutchman’s awful second-set performance. Auger-Aliassime narrowly avoided exiting in his 7-6 4-6 7-6 win over Damir Dzumhur. The Canadian was far below his best in that match. However, he remains one of the best indoor hard-court players worldwide. I would be surprised if he does not raise his level with ATP Finals qualification on the line.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Lorenzo Musseti vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Head-to-head: Musetti 4-0 Mpetshi Perricard

Musetti and Mpetshi Perricard’s last meeting at the China Open was their tightest match. This year’s French Open semifinalist did a great job of staying focused and waiting for his opportunities against the huge-serving Frenchman in their previous battles. On an indoor court, it could be a close battle, but I expect Musetti to battle through again.
Prediction: Musetti in 3
