The 2025 edition of the ATP Chengdu Open is all set for an exciting finish. Two of the top four seeds are in the last four, along with a qualifier. As ever, we preview and predict both semifinal matches for you.

ATP Chengdu Semifinal Predictions

Brandon Nakashima vs Alejandro Tabilo

Head-to-head – Nakashima 1-1 Tabilo

Brandon Nakashima has played pretty well this year, and the American will be looking to close out the year with strong results. Nakashima has had to battle hard this week with two tough wins. What is perhaps amazing for the American is that is he has posted great numbers on his serve and that should give him a lot of confidence.

Alejandro Tabilo, on the other hand, finds himself in some bit of form after a final appearance at the Challenger event last week and now coming through qualifying. The Chilean has played a lot of tennis this week and he too has been serving very well. Expect a titanic battle between the two in line with their two previous meetings with Tabilo just edging this one on the back of his superior movement around the baseline.
Prediction: Tabilo in 3

Lorenzo Musetti vs Alexander Shevchenko

Head-to-head – Musetto 1-0 Shevchenko

Lorenzo Musetti expectedly finds himself amidst a deep run this week as the Italian #2 has had great results this year but yet to win a title. He made short work of his opponent in the quarterfinals and now takes on surprise semifinalist in Alexander Shevchenko.

Shevchenko has fought tooth and nail in all his three matches this week and perhaps fatigue may start to kick in an high stakes match. The Kazakh will look to be aggressive but Musetti looks really settled from the baseline and it is tough to see the Italian losing this one.
Prediction: Musetti in 2
