This is Rune’s third consecutive tournament where he has reached the quarterfinals, and he will look to advance further this time around. Tomas Martin Etcheverry is a tough opponent, but Rune has the game to win this if he plays well.

Casper Ruud took an early exit in Shanghai, but it gave him time to work on his game and be fresh this week for a possible title run. He had a tough opening match against Marin Cilic, and he handled it with aplomb. He was brilliant in the whole match and barely made unforced errors. If he can sustain that level, it will be hard for anyone to beat him. Sebastian Korda’s game suits the indoor courts, and he will present a great challenge to the Norwegian. I won’t be surprised if this match goes the distance.
