'Australia is my second home,' ‘Atmosphere’ enthusiast Aryna Sabalenka overwhelmed with all the Australian love and support as a hopeful 2024 season awaits

Aryna Sabalenka produced a superb performance on Saturday to clinch her second Australian Open title. The Belarusian took no time to race past the Chinese 12th seed, Qinwen Zheng, to successfully defend her title.

Joining Jennifer CapriatiSerena Williams, and Victoria Azarenka, Sabalenka finds herself among the greatest of all time. After winning the title against Qinwen Zheng, Sabalenka, via her Twitter account, thanked the fans of Australia and called Australia her ‘second home’.

OMG What just happened??? Just wanna say thank you so much for all the support!!! Thank you for all kind messages I've received lately... love you all!!! From now in Australia is my second home, love you!!! Aussie Aussie Aussie- Oiiii Oiiii Oiiii. She wrote on X

The amount of love and support she has received in Australia, not just in Melbourne but also in other cities, has been phenomenal. That’s not all; during the Brisbane International, the World No. 2 highlighted that if she had received the same level of support at the US Open last year, she would have won the title.

Aryna Sabalenka- the force to reckon with in the coming tournaments?

The Belarusian started off her season by reaching the finals of the Brisbane International, and now she has bagged the second Grand Slam title of her professional career.

The sheer dominance she displayed during the Grand Slam is second to none, as she didn’t drop a single set on her road to the title. Defeating World No. 4 Coco Gauff in the semi-finals, Sabalenka truly remained a favorite throughout the prestigious tournament.

Going by this form, she will definitely be the favorite going into the next tournaments of the season. That’s not all; as per World No. 2 herself, she didn’t want to be that player who won the Grand Slam and then disappeared. With that being said, there is no denying that this speaks of her hunger for more titles.
