Player earnings have always been a point of interest for the fans. The recent report from Forbes shed light on which player earned the most in the last 12 months. In the list of on-court earnings, Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz dominated, just like they have dominated men’s tennis for the last 21 months.

Both players have won the last seven Grand Slams in the men’s singles category. Sinner managed to win four, whereas Alcaraz lifted the major title on three occasions. This year, both players have already met twice in the final of Grand Slams. At the French Open, Alcaraz made a monumental comeback and lifted the title after beating Si nner in a five-set thriller with a score of 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6.

During the match, Alcaraz managed to save three championship points in the fourth set and eventually came out on top in a contest that lasted more than five hours and officially became the second-longest final in the history of Grand Slams. The two once again met in the final at Wimbledon, where Sinner managed to take revenge for the heartbreaking defeat in Paris and emerged victorious with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

In terms of on-court earnings, Sinner has managed to earn the most with $20.3 million, but with off-court earnings, Alcaraz remains the highest-earning tennis player in the world. The five-time Grand Slam winner earns a whopping $35 million in off-the-court endorsements and sponsorship deals, which t akes his overall earnings to over $48 million in the last 12 months.

Leading the charts

Sinner came second-best in this race after having earned $47.3 million over the period of the last 12 months, out of which $27 million he managed to earn through endorsements and sponsorship deals. Third on the list features America’s Coco Gauff, who earned about $37.2 million over the last 12 months. She remained the highest-earning women’s tennis player in the world. Only $12.2 million of that earnings came through on-court achievements, whereas $25 million came through off-court endorsements and sponsorship deals.

Gauff has had a mixed season on the court this year, where the highlight was her triumph in Paris, where she lifted the French Open after beating world number one Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka in the final with a score of 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. Fourth in the list is Serbia’s Novak Djokovic. Despite only winning one ATP title or Grand Slam since the start of the 2024 season, which was the Gene va Open earlier this year where he defeated Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the final with a score of 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, the veteran tennis star managed to earn a whopping sum of $29.6 million in the last 12 months.

Interestingly, Djokovic has not featured in any competition since Wimbledon, where his journey ended in the semifinal after losing to Sinner in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-4. Women’s number one-ranked player, Sabalenka, is placed in fifth position on the list with an estimated earnings of $27.4 million. Out of that, $12.4 million was her on-court earnings, whereas $15 million was her off-court earnings.

The most surprising candidate on the list was the presence of China’s Qinwen Zheng in sixth position. The 22-year-old managed to earn $26.1 million in the last 12 months, out of which only $5.1 million was achieved with on-court earnings, whereas $21 million was achieved through off-court earnings. Wimbledon 2025 winner Poland’s Iga Swiatek is seventh on the list with an estimated earnings of $24 million in the last 12 months. She earned $9 million on-court, whereas $15 million came through her off-court earnings. Taylor Fritz was the highest-earning American men’s player on the list. He rounded up with $15.6 million earnings in the last 12 months, out of which the majority was on-court earnings ($8.6 million).
