The players from the American tennis circuit have performed fairly well in this 2023 season. Players such as Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz have performed well. However, few names have stood who took the level to new heights for American tennis.
Coco Gauff, along with Ben Shelton, were named ESPN ‘Breakthrough Players of the Year’ for their rise in the ranks this season. The 27-year-old Christopher Eubanks was awarded with the ‘Best Moment’ for his superb quarterfinal run at Wimbledon this year.
Gauff had a superb year this season. She won the ASB Classic and Cincinnati Masters beating Karolina Muchova in the finals. She also won her first major Grand Slam title by winning the US Open 2023 defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the finals. Gauff ended the year as one of the highest-paid female athletes in the world.
Ben Shelton, the American wonder boy this season, rose to the ranks as he jumped from 96 rankings to 15. He reached the semi-finals of the US Open, where he lost to the eventual winner, Novak Djokovic. Shelton also made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, which was also his first-ever Grand Slam appearance outside the US Open.
However, the best moment of the season was of World No.29 Chris Eubanks making it to quarters of Wimbledon. In the quarterfinals, he lost to Daniil Medvedev in the fifth set.

The three players have shown immense promise this season. However, they will need to continue their good form too in the upcoming season. Not only the American fans, but the entire world has their eyes upon them to see how these young players perform.
Shelton will start off his 2024 campaign with the Brisbane International where players like Rafael Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov will also be participating.
Gauff will feature in the ASB Classic where she will be taking on Claire Liu in the Round of 32. With the Australian Open around the corner, the ASB classic will be a training ground for the 2023 US Open winner before she gets into the groove of the Grand Slam events. Eubanks will next feature in the Australian Open in January.
