The draw has been confirmed for the 2025 Eastbourne Open which is due to take place between June 23-28, 2025 on the grass courts of the South Coast of England.
Usually a WTA 500 tournament in years gone by, it has been sacrificed in regards to its status for the WTA 500 at Queen's in London. This meant that Nottingham was shifted a week and Birmingham was also disposed from the calendar onto WTA 125k status.
The previous roll of honor is very much a who's who of top names from Daria Kasatkina who returns this year to Madison Keys, Petra Kvitova, Jelena Ostapenko, Karolina Pliskova and Caroline Wozniacki.
Similar to what Bad Homburg has now become in the same week, it was the big final tournament for a lot of the big names before Wimbledon but that has now changed ever so slightly.
Kasatkina is top seed and opens up against Lulu Sun. Anna Blinkova or Marie Bouzkova likely await in the second round. Emma Raducanu also sits in her section and is seventh seed in Eastbourne. She faces Ann Li then faces a tough route through including Maya Joint v Ons Jabeur winner.
Barbora Krejcikova, the current Wimbledon champion is second seed and faces Harriet Dart and it could be another Brit after in Jodie Burrage. Third seed is Jelena Ostapenko and she faces Sonay Kartal. Her likely first tough test comes from Magda Linette or Dayana Yastremska further up the draw.
Peyton Stearns is also involved and faces rising Brit, Mingge Xu. She could face Sofia Kenin in the latter stages on the South Coast as the action heads quickly towards Wimbledon once more in a few weeks time.
