DRAW US Open Mixed Doubles 2025 including Draper/Pegula v Raducanu/Alcaraz as Jannik Sinner gets new partner

The draw has been confirmed for the 2025 US Open Mixed Doubles which is due to take place on Tuesday with the first round posting some mouthwatering ties. Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula are top seeds and will face the most talked about team in the tournament in Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz.

Mainly discussed due to the press trying to pedal romance narratives, Raducanu and Alcaraz have long been one of the main talking points of this event which changed from being the normal mixed doubles to this sort of exhibition the week before the US Open.

Originally it had a really star studded field and has undergone a lot of surgery including right before the event as Jannik Sinner and also Jack Draper can attest to. Draper originally teamed with Zheng Qinwen but due to surgery she was out, Paula Badosa originally was with Stefanos Tsitsipas but broke up with him also in their personal life and is now out too including with Draper who she then teamed with.

This has led to Draper having his third partner which is Pegula who teamed originally with Tommy Paul. Emma Navarro was in a jovial mood about her partnership with Sinner but in the end that didn't happen either with the American in desperate need for form. As a result, she has decidingly played Monterrey this week instead, a WTA 500 and given she won Merida Open in Mexico earlier in the year will hope it proves to be an inspired decision. Sinner though doesn't have a bad replacement, he teams with Katerina Siniakova.

Djokovic or Andreeva team likely awaits

The winner of that Draper/Pegula v Raducanu/Alcaraz won't get a harder complexion either as they face either Olga Danilovic/Novak Djokovic or Mirra Andreeva/Daniil Medvedev. Both have teamed before in the United Cup and the latter in the World Tennis League.

Second seeds are Taylor Fritz and Elena Rybakina who have also played together before in Tiebreak Tens but it is different than having to face the reigning champions with a point to prove for their own discipline in Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori. Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek face Madison Keys and Frances Tiafoe. While Amanda Anisimova teams with Holger Rune to face Ben Shelton and Taylor Townsend.

That new Sinner team face Bencic and Zverev with the winner facing Anisimova/Rune or Shelton/Townsend. While in the bottom section, it is also Venus Williams who teams with close friend Reilly Opelka who no doubt will cause havoc with his serve to face Karolina Muchova and Andrey Rublev. The winner takes on that Rybakina/Fritz v Errani/Vavassori section.

The format of the competition sees a best of three set match played over just four games with a deciding point at deuce and a tie-breaker if the scores are level at 4-4. The final will be played over three sets with six games required to win and a tie-break to decide if it reaches 6-6. But it is lucrative with $1million to the winner. The runners-up collect $400,000. Semi-finalists are in line for $200,000. Quarter-Finalists will take home $100,000 and teams that lose in the opening round will be handed $20,000. Not bad for a few days work.
