The Entry List has been confirmed for the Hamburg Ladies Open which is due to take place between July 14-20, 2025 and sees a return to clay for a short period after Wimbledon.

It was founded in 2021 bringing back tennis to the Am Rothenbaum. Contested on outdoor clay courts, it features 32 singles players with up to 10,000 fans in attendance.

Being a WTA 250 also post Wimbledon, it suffers slightly in terms of uptake from top names with Yulia Putintseva leading the way in regards to seeds. But there will be a heavy home contingent including German No.1, Eva Lys.

As well as Queen's champion Tatjana Maria who will be involved. Arantxa Rus will also return after winning the title last year. She defeated Noma Noha Akugue who is not yet entered but presumably may receive a wildcard after her wonder run.

Previous winners have also included Bernarda Pera and Elena-Gabriela Ruse on the tournament being established on the WTA Calendar. It was also a focal point last year towards the Olympics but unlike last year, there isn't that gap for this event needed.

Many will shift their focus onto the US hard court swing instead of returning to clay. The Citi DC Open for instance is played in the week after. It also sits as the only clay court tournament alongside the Iasi Open on the WTA Tour that week. Action also shifts to Prague the week after.

It then heads to Montreal, Cincinnati and Flushing Meadows so it has a bit of a thankless task on the schedule compared to other tournaments of a similar ilk.
