The Georgia Bulldogs have once again proven why they are one of the most dominant programs in collegiate tennis history. With a clutch team performance and a dramatic comeback on court six, Georgia claimed their eighth NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship by defeating top-seeded Texas A&M in the 2025 NCAA Division I Finals.

The Dawgs secured first in doubles, setting the tone with their quick gameplay. On court two, the 68-ranked duo of Grant and Lopata made easy work of Daria Smetannikov and Lexington Reed, posting a commanding 6-2 win.

After that, the duo of Mert and Mulberry secured the all-important doubles point with a 7-5 victory over Khirin and Perez on court three, giving Georgia a 1-0 team lead.

Then came a rollercoaster win from Anastasiia Lopata on court two, where after a rough opening set where she was bageled 0-6, Lopata turned the match around dramatically, rallying to defeat Khirin, 0-6, 6-4, 6-2, putting the Dawgs just one point away from glory.

That final, decisive point came from the bottom of the lineup, where Sofia Rojas battled back after dropping the first set to Texas A&M's Reed. With relentless baseline play and exceptional fitness, Rojas sealed the match—and the national championship—with a gritty 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 victory on court six.

The party atmosphere began immediately after the last point as teammates stormed the court and jumped together in unison. The athletes looked absolutely ecstatic as they celebrated in style.

As teammates stormed the court, the Bulldogs celebrated a monumental victory, capturing their eighth NCAA women’s tennis title and cementing their legacy as a collegiate tennis powerhouse. With Vidmanova anchoring the top of the lineup and young stars like Lopata and Rojas stepping up in clutch moments, Georgia’s victory was a true team effort.
