'Hard times don't last forever': Daria Saville receives support from Coco Gauff after posting emotional post following series of poor results

Australia’s Daria Saville has received some support from America’s Coco Gauff after going through a tough phase. The 31-year-old shared an emotional post on the social media platform Instagram with a caption: “anything but winning some matches”.

In response to that, Saville received support from Gauff. "Hard times don't last forever. You got this! Already have a very successful career and a lot to be proud of and a lot more that you will do on and off court that you will be proud of. Stay strong,” she wrote. Saville ended up responding by: "Thank you Coco".

The Moscow-born player, who is one of the players who changed her nationality to Australia, has been knocked out in the first round or qualifying round 11 times this year. Overall, she has played in 14 events in 2025 but has failed to get past the qualifying round on eight occasions. Her best performance came while playing at the Merida Open back in March, where she managed to reach the semifinal but eventually lost to Emiliana Arango with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Saville recently featured in the Rome Open qualifying round where she lost to Germany’s Laura Siegemund in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-1. Before coming to Rome, she featured in the WTA 125 event in Lleida where her journey ended in the round of 32 after losing to Spain’s Guiomar Maristany in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-3. Those performances has seen her rankings drop to 132.
