'He is always the biggest favorite,' Novak Djokovic picks Nadal ahead of himself as the biggest favorite for Roland Garros

Roland Garros is approaching at a great pace. With every passing day, the players get more ready to face the biggest challenge on the court. Even the legendary Rafael Nadal is the biggest name in the mix of great names.

Despite his current form, many tennis enthusiasts still believe that he has the potential to win another French Open title. Even his rival, Novak Djokovic, believes the same.

At a recent press conference at the Geneva Open, the Serbian gave a little insight on the upcoming Grand Slam and the players who will win it.

Although Djokovic named Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev as good contenders for the French Open, he believes that Rafael Nadal, irrespective of his form, can still be a great contender and a possible favorite for the French Open.

Casper Ruud is surely one of the five players who are candidates to win. You have Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas — all the players who won a major tournament on this surface this year. But when you talk about Roland-Garros and Nadal is there, he is always the biggest favorite for me. Said Novak Djokovic in a recent press meet

Furthermore, the Serbian goes on to say that he is also a good contender if he gets back to his old mentality. Hungry for wins, Djokovic entered the Geneva Open, which comes over a couple of days before his first match in the Grand Slam.

Novak Djokovic begins his Geneva Open campaign against Yannick Hanfmann

Serbian ace Novak Djokovic hasn’t been in the best of form all year. With no title wins so far, the Serbian is slowly losing his position as World No. 1. However, now, for a change, he will play at the Geneva Open and try his luck in the ATP 250.

After some waiting, Djokovic will play Yannick Hanfmann in the first round. The German recently beat Andy Murray to get here and seems in great touch while paying. Despite some great shots from Murray, the German pushed through to beat the veteran and move ahead in the tournament.

Now, the whole world will watch the Geneva Open to see the progress of Djokovic and if he can fend off the players in this tournament. Moreover, with the French Open around the corner, Djokovic would hope to build on some momentum and enter the tournament with a bang.
