Naomi Osaka is through to the US Open semi-finals and has her sights set on a fifth Grand Slam title.
The Japanese player saw off Karolina Muchova 6-4, 7-5 to reach her first Flushing Meadows semi-final since winning it in 2020. Osaka respects Amanda Anisimova, but come Thursday, it’s all business between them.

It’s been a challenging few years for the 27-year-old, who even considered retiring from tennis at one point.
This year’s run hasn’t been perfect for Osaka, but with two US Open titles already under her belt, she has every reason to believe another could be within reach.
Their matchup should make for some compelling tennis, with both players known for their powerful groundstrokes.
And while she understands how difficult the tournament can be, her two previous titles speak for themselves.
She said in her press conference: “For me, she’s always been one of the most talented players on tour. I think no one wants to see her name next to theirs, especially with what she would potentially do.
“I think she’s one of the players where you don’t know where she’s going to hit the ball.
“I honestly didn’t watch the Wimbledon final. Obviously, I saw the score line and I saw how devastated she must be. But I think to play Iga here and to win it on home soil is something that is a really big achievement and credit to her.
“I think the match is going to be really tough tomorrow.”
Osaka got the job done with little fuss against the Czech player, and it’s encouraging to see her return to a Grand Slam semifinal after some time away from the big stage.

Anisimova, though, will be looking at this as a real chance too, especially after getting past Iga Swiatek and putting those Wimbledon memories behind her.
