In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, Naomi Osaka once again surprised fans with a custom Labubu doll, this time in tribute to a tennis legend. The new "La Billie Boo" joins the dolls she showed off in previous rounds.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic continues to steal the spotlight off the court with a couple of special encounters with a Hollywood star and a well-known American rapper. On a different note, Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber shared heartwarming photos as they embrace motherhood away from the courts.
Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber shared some touching family photos today, as a new US Open is underway without the presence of two of the most prominent players of the last decade. Both Angelique Kerber and Caroline Wozniacki are living a different stage in their lives, this time as mothers.
The Danish former world No. 1 had returned from retirement in 2023 after being away for three and a half years, now married with two children. After nearly a year back on the courts, Wozniacki announced another break in her career—without giving any signs if she plans to return—and gave birth to her third child, Max, in July of this year. She recently posted a photo on social media of her three children: Olivia, 4; James, 3; and Max, just a couple of months old.

On the other hand, the German Kerber—a three-time Grand Slam champion—retired just a year ago and is embracing motherhood after welcoming her first daughter in early 2023. After a brief return to the courts, Kerber announced her retirement at age 36 after the 2024 Olympic Games. Today, she uploaded a photo of her family outing in the mountains and received a comment from her colleague and former rival Wozniacki: "We loved it there!"

Novak Djokovic had a couple of special encounters after his third-round victory against Cameron Norrie. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is a star on and off the court and one of the most sought-after people for other celebrities who attend the US Open as spectators. This time, the Serbian met with Hollywood actor Ben Stiller and rapper Fat Joe in the Flushing Meadows locker rooms.
In his meeting with the actor, Djokovic shared a friendly greeting with one of Hollywood's most well-known tennis fans, who is often seen in the stands at tournaments in the U.S. Nole asked Stiller about his current tennis level and received a special invitation. "My tennis is not that great right now," Stiller told the former world No. 1 with a laugh. "We're shooting another 'Meet the Parents' movie right now. You should come."
"No way, I would love to! I'll text and we'll catch up," Djokovic replied.
Another post showed Djokovic's encounter with Fat Joe, the American rapper who congratulated him on his win over Norrie. They joked together in the locker rooms, minutes before Djokovic began his post-match recovery work. Nole has now advanced to the fourth round at Flushing Meadows and is set to face Jan-Lennard Struff, who is having a great tournament, coming through the qualifiers and having defeated Holger Rune (11th) and Frances Tiafoe (17th) along the way.

Naomi Osaka continues to expand the Labubu craze after her third-round victory against Daria Kasatkina. The four-time Grand Slam champion had already surprised fans in the early rounds with personalized Labubus for her on-court entrances. Adorned with jewels and holding tiny rackets, the Japanese star has turned these small dolls into a trend that's now hitting the tennis world.
In the first round, the former world No. 1 showed off a custom Labubu she named "Billie Jean Bling," in honor of the legendary former tennis player. For the second round, she brought out a male doll, also personalized with rhinestones, saying, "this one is Arthur Flash," a reference to Arthur Ashe, the tennis great for whom the main stadium at Flushing Meadows is named. For this third round, she once again paid tribute to Billie Jean King with a Labubu wearing red glasses and black rhinestones, which she nicknamed "La Billie Boo."
