Recent reports indicate that Novak Djokovic would have his replacement for Andy Murray as his new coach ready: none other than Viktor Troicki, the current Serbian Davis Cup captain. The 24-time Grand Slam champion will return to the court within a week at the Geneva Open, his last commitment before traveling to Roland Garros.

After debut eliminations at the Monte-Carlo Masters and Madrid Open, Djokovic decided to withdraw from the Rome Open, staying away from competition for a couple of weeks.

The world No. 6 made news again in recent days by announcing the end of his relationship with Andy Murray as coach, after a 5-month partnership. Being just days away from his return to the courts, Djokovic apparently already has a new coach in his box: his compatriot Viktor Troicki, Davis Cup captain of the Serbian team.

Without official announcements, The i Paper journalist James Gray reports that Djokovic would at least temporarily have Troicki as his coach. A well-known figure to Nole, who was his Davis Cup teammate – even playing doubles together – and later as his captain. In 2023, Troicki worked with Hamad Medjedovic, and at the end of 2024, he began working with Miomir Kecmanovic.

A photo shared on social media shows Djokovic alongside Troicki on clay courts in a recent training session.
