Novak Djokovic's Family a Is Big Part of Seven-Time Wimbledon Champ's Success

At times, greatness on the court comes from peace off it. Novak Djokovic knows that better than anyone. While the world watches him break records and lift trophies, his biggest wins often happen far from Wimbledon’s Centre Court, at home, with his family.

Djokovic’s story with his wife, Jelena, began long before his first Grand Slam win. The two met as students in Serbia. Years later, they married in a quiet ceremony on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast in 2014. Jelena, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, has been a constant support in Djokovic’s career, often seen cheering courtside, her presence steady during his toughest battles.

Their love story grew into a family. Just months after their wedding, Novak and Jelena welcomed their first child, Stefan. In 2017, their daughter Tara was born. Djokovic has never hidden his joy. Sharing his happiness on social media, he once wrote, “Life is divine,” calling his wife and children his “angels.”

Stefan has shown interest in tennis, often hitting balls just like his dad. “I never forced him to play,” Djokovic said in 2022. “It’s his desire to step on the court.” Tara, meanwhile, prefers life outside the sport. As Novak put it, “She is not into tennis at all,” speaking before the 2023 Australian Open.

But it’s not just about tennis. Jelena regularly shares family moments on social media. Vacations, birthdays, and quiet family days show a different side of Novak, the father, the husband, the man beyond the legend.

As Djokovic fights for every point at Wimbledon, he does it with their love behind him. For him, titles are important. But family? That’s where his real happiness lives.
